Hello, I'm Meredith Mpinga, MA, CPC

I come alongside adults who are overwhelmed by their emotions, experiences, and environments, and equip them to experience confidence, freedom, and joy - even amidst the messiness of life.

My counselling approach is holistic and centered on you as a client - understanding your story, building on your strengths, and helping you live a life of full of meaning, aligned with your values.

I specialise in integrative faith-based therapy, combining my passions for psychology and theology.

I'm a Certified Professional Counsellor, speaker, pastor's wife, and mum of five.

In 2012 I established Meadowinds Counselling Services to create a restorative space for people.

My passion for companioning people comes from a belief that everyone is created by God with value and a purpose. I am a follower of Jesus, and am happy to integrate faith into our work together if you are looking for counselling from a Christian perspective.

I'm here to come alongside you to explore what's going on and work through the struggles you are facing in an empowering and compassionate way.

BACKGROUND

Before starting my private practice I counselled women fleeing domestic violence at a shelter in Calgary. I have also supported adults with developmental disabilities in a group home setting in Ottawa, volunteered in counselling centres in both Ottawa and Calgary, and helped with Rainbows, a program for kids whose parents are separated or divorced.

In 2012 I founded Meadowinds Counselling Services and over the years have been honoured to companion many women and men, walking with them into a new chapter of growth and restoration, equipping them for the rest of their story.

Originally from Ontario, I grew up the youngest of four kids in a pastor's family. My education took me across the country to various parts of Alberta and Ontario.

I enjoy fostering meaningful connection, creating beauty, and continual learning. Witnessing growth and healing in myself and others through therapeutic conversations spurs me on as a counselling therapist.

Counselling Therapist

The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA), #1741

The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta is seeking to establish the College of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (CCTA). Currently anyone in Alberta can call themselves a therapist, no matter what education or credentials they may have. This lack of regulation of the counselling profession leaves clients in a precarious situation, as it can be hard to determine whether or not a therapist is trustworthy, ethical, or equipped to help you.
