Sunlife Financial, Alberta Blue Cross, and Manulife each recognise the credentials of members of the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists, however individuals' insurance policies vary, so be sure to consult your specific plan or contact your insurance provider to find out if therapy with a certified counsellor is covered for you. While some providers limit coverage to registered psychologists and registered social workers, others have recognised the value of therapy provided by counselling therapists. Clients are responsible for ensuring they have coverage (and how much) if they plan to use it.
Instead of submiting claims directly to insurance providers, I issue comprehensive receipts which you can supply to your provider for reimbursement. If needed, I can write a letter outlining the value of counselling therapy.
I don't want finances to be a barrier to getting help, so if you would struggle to afford my standard rate, please let me know and we can figure out a way to make therapy more affordable for you.
Payment can be made immediately following your session using any of the following methods:
Sessions are available either in person with or on an online video platform from the comfort and safety of your home.
Given the onging risks of COVID on our physical and mental wellbeing, I continue to take precautions personally and strive to create a safer environment for clients.
Current office protocols include running an air purifier with HEPA filtration, staggering sessions to limit contact in the waiting room, and transitioning to an online session if symptomatic.
KN95 and N95 respirators are available for free if desired.
